On the hill above Šindelová is the natural monument Kamenný hřib. It is a bizarre rock formation that was created by natural weathering of granite without human intervention. The prerequisite for its formation was the presence of horizontal, so-called bed cracks and the circulation of water and natural acids at a time when the rock was still hidden in the weathering mantle. The originally solid rock disintegrated along these weakened zones and the once fine hairline cracks became wide cracks. Later removal of the surrounding weathering and washing out of the disintegrated rock from the cracks created the initial rough shape, which was abraded by the forces of wind and weather for thousands of years.Kamenný hřib is formed by porphyric biotitic granite of the older intrusive complex of the Karlovy Vary massif. It has a roughly rectangular ground plan with dimensions of 4.2 x 3.2 x 4.8 x 3.2 meters. The height is 1 to 3 meters. And by the way, compare the shape of the Stone Mushroom with the Geopark logo!
