Rotava Sun Stones

The Rotavské Sluňáky (“Rotava Sun Stones“) are scattered boulders and slabs of quartzite, which cover the wooded plain between the Varhany and Rotava part of the Růžové (“Rose“) Valley. The sun stones are composed of white quartz and often have a pitted and grooved surface. They formed during the kaolinic weathering of granite in the Tertiary Period.
