Mineral springs in the villages of Dolní Paseky and Doubrava are already recorded on the map of Aš from 1716. Water was popular beverage of locals, who filled it in bottles and drove in carts to the customers in Aš. Factory owner from Aš Christian Geipel tested the mineral spring in 1870 and later built a small wooden pavilion there. Mineral water was then captured using very primitive boards.
In 1931, the village set up at own costs professional capture of mineral water and built a new drinking pavilion. In the same year the well-known Prague chemist, Professor Julius Stoklasa, who also attended the opening ceremony pavilion, analysed the water and took it along with the ochre deposits in his hands, tasted it in front of all onlookers and declared it excellent.
Mineral water is carried into the overflow vase below ground level in the basement of the building, which previously had problems with frequent flooding from a nearby stream. Spillway vase was formerly covered with a glass dome, which was replaced by stainless steel one. After recent repairs there is no more flooding from the stream. The top floor with a table and information about the chemical composition of water was modified as well.
The Spring Pavilion is open only in daytime, at the night is closed. In Aš, climb the lookout tower Háj and visit the Town Museum.
